The Medical Alarm System (MAS) is live at the Itensive Care Unit in this Belgium hospital. The implemented (MAS) uses intelligent alarm technology. The software solution, developed by itemedical, filters and delays unnecessary alarms and does not forward short-term alarms that reset themselves to the smartphones. Thanks to the collaboration with 25-8 as an alarm Belgium distribution partner in this hospital, the right alarms reach the right care provider at the right time.
Kevin Meerschaert explains the choice for this system: “New approaches to alarm management, based on data analytics, offer a powerful solution to the problem of alarm fatigue in departments. Using advanced algorithms and machine learning techniques, we can adjust alarm thresholds and prioritize only the most critical alarms. This allows caregivers to focus on truly urgent situations and reduces the impact of unnecessary and redundant alarms, ultimately improving patient safety and well-being.”
The successful go-live in this hospital was cause for celebration. Magali Vlaminck and Mathias Van Driessche of the itemecical team brought the cakes to the ICU. We hope you enjoyed it and thank AZ Groeninge for their trust.
