There are literally lives connected to it. I work on the technical side, but that makes it even more interesting.

Arjan Vos strengthens itemedical as a Technical Application Specialist. In this role, he is responsible for internal management and maintenance, support, and the technical implementation of software for medical alarm management in hospitals.
With years of experience in IT support and system administration, Arjan brings technical expertise, a calm mindset, and a practical way of working. Healthcare is new to him. That is exactly why he sees this step as an exciting challenge: applying technology in an environment where it has a direct impact.
Meet Arjan Vos: a down-to-earth IT professional with a strong focus on both people and technology.
What will you be doing as a Technical Application Specialist?
“As a Technical Application Specialist, I will focus on internal management and maintenance, supporting customers and colleagues, and implementing medical alarm management software,” Arjan explains. In this role, technology, customer interaction, and healthcare technology come together. “That’s what makes it interesting.”
What are you most looking forward to?
“Especially getting to know the medical software solutions, the technical setup, and the customer implementations. You come across new terms and situations and think: how does that work? I enjoy understanding things step by step.”
Arjan describes this initial period as “soaking it all in”: absorbing a lot of information, asking questions, and discovering how everything fits together. “Learning new things takes energy, but it also gives a lot of energy.”
How did you find your way to itemedical?
“Through a recruiter,” Arjan says. “The role sounded interesting, so I decided to explore it.”
That first conversation immediately felt right. “It felt like a warm welcome.” After a follow-up interview and a job shadowing day, the decision was quickly made. “Bring on the contract.”
Arjan was consciously looking for a new step. After a period as a freelancer, he wanted to return to a stable working environment with meaningful challenges. “I was looking for a role where I could use my IT experience while also learning something new. That came together nicely here.”
What is your background, Arjan?
Arjan entered the IT field and worked at various organizations in support roles, service environments, and system administration. He started at a help desk and progressed into system administration. “That broad foundation suits me well. I like knowing a bit about many different things.”
He now brings that experience to itemedical. “I enjoy working on multiple topics. That variety is exactly what makes it interesting.”
What can customers and colleagues expect from you?
“Calmness and perseverance. I stay composed, even in stressful situations. I don’t get caught up in the pressure. If there’s a storm, I want to be the steady point that maintains overview.”
Arjan also enjoys diving deep into technical challenges. “I want to ultimately understand what’s going on and how we can solve it. Solving complex problems, digging into them, and working step by step toward a solution—that’s what I love.”
As a colleague, Arjan is approachable and down-to-earth. “I’m definitely an IT guy, including the occasional dry or sarcastic joke,” he says. “But I also find the social aspect very important. People should feel comfortable asking questions. You don’t have to be best friends with everyone, but you do need to collaborate well.”
And what do you enjoy outside of work?
“In my free time, I volunteer and serve on the board of a music venue and collective. One initiative helps people make music at an amateur level. The other provides a stage for performers. I’ve actually been involved in that since I was about fourteen.”
He used to play bass guitar and percussion, but nowadays he mainly works behind the scenes. “I help make sure events run smoothly. Besides that, I like to keep up with the IT world, spend time with friends, and enjoy a good craft beer.”
Welcome Arjan!
